With the health service set to make unprecedented changes as a result of the reforms outlined in the Health and Social Care Bill, GovKnow are pleased to present our Health and Social Care Conference 2012. This important and timely conference will examine the current changes in the health and social care arena and how the Bill will affect practitioners working in and alongside the health service.
Our expert contributors at the conference, including Professor Steve Field, Chair of the NHS Future Forum and Dr Clare Gerada, Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners, will be on hand in the main plenary sessions to answer questions from delegates about the current reforms in the health service and how they will affect practitioners, stakeholders and patients.
"The report stage of the Bill is expected to be held in the House of Lords at the end of January, so it is timely for us to reiterate our concerns and show the government that we want to continue working with them to bring about positive change for the benefit of our patients.”
- Dr Clare Gerada, Chair, Royal College of General Practitioners
Topics to be discussed at the conference include: the restructuring of health commissioning; the implications of an ageing population; breaking down health inequalities; ensuring a commitment to continuing professional development amongst frontline staff; improving the regulation of care; effectively using private and third sector service providers; and improving the patient experience through increased choice.
The conference will also feature expert workshop sessions and networking breaks, allowing delegates to tailor their conference experience to ensure that they leave the event having explored the key topics and themes most relevant to their job role and organisation.
