Introduction

This is the first meeting of the ACTOR (Accredited Clinical Teaching Open Resources) community of practice www.medev.ac.uk/blog/oer-phase-2-blog/. Its aim is to encourage and facilitate  collaboration and sharing of expertise and resources among providers of PG Certificate, Diploma and Masters level 'clinical' or 'medical' education programmes (accredited or not).

The Accredited Clinical Teaching Open Resources (ACTOR) Project involves a partnership between University of Bristol, University of Cambridge, Hull York Medical School, Newcastle University, Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry and the MEDEV Subject Centre.

Aims

Its key aim is to establish a permanent collaboration and sharing of expertise and resources among providers of PG Certificate, Diploma and Masters level 'clinical' or 'medical' education programmes  (accredited or not). It draws on the earlier work done through the MEDEV RAFTT project (http://www.medev.ac.uk/ourwork/community/raftt/) and seeks to facilitate sharing teaching resources available within the community by utilising the expertise developed through the open educational resource community.

The workshop builds on two year's experience of working with the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and Higher Education Academy (HEA) with the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) funded UKOER programme. You can keep up with news and developments of both projects by following the MEDEV OER phase 2 blog at www.medev.ac.uk/blog/oer-phase-2-blog/.
